Practice tapestry
crochet and make this easy colorful bag by working with only two colors in each
section.
------------------
This bag is worked using
two strands of each color with sport weight yarn.
(If you want to use only
one strand of each color then use worsted weight yarn)
DOUBLE STRAND TIP:
·
Use
the strand from both the inside and outside of the skein and wrap them together
to make a 2 strands ball.
MEASUREMENTS:
·
Approx. 24 cm wide *25 cm tall (without
handles).
MATERIALS:
·
Size 3.5mm crochet hook. (E USA size, 9 UK

GAUGE:
- With 2 strands of yarn (approx. 12 sc and 8 rounds to obtain a 5 cm square) in tapestry sc.
- If takes you fewer stitches to make a 5cm square, try using a smaller hook or the bag will be bigger, if more stitches try a larger size hook or the bag will be smaller.
STITCHES:
- Chain (Ch.), Single crochet, Slip Stitch (sl st), Color changing.
NOTES:
- This pattern is written in American English.
- Bag is worked using 2 strands of yarn.
- Bag is worked in one piece using joined rounds and tapestry crochet technique.
- Join rounds with slip stitch in top of a beginning sc in the back loop.
- You will always work in the back loop only.
- Each Round will begin with chain 1, sc in the same st as joined.
STITCH GUIDE:
- Tapestry Crochet is created by carrying color not in use over stitches being worked, working scs across the carried yarn to incase it between stitches.
- When changing colors, work stitch before change until two loops remaining on hook, draw through final two loops with new color.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Each square is a sc worked in the back loop only.
- Each round will begin with ch 1 and 1 sc in the same stitch as joined (1st sc).
- Each round will end with a sl st in the 1st sc of the previous round.
